    I am concerned about distortion in my baby. Can you determine if treatment is necessary or not?

    Yes, please feel free to visit us. At initial examination, we diagnose whether the condition is a pathological deformation or not. After measuring the head shape with a 3D scanner to assess the severity, we determine whether helmet treatment should be applied. Early consultation is very important.

    Doesn’t head distortion cure naturally?

    It is not believed to heal spontaneously. In some cases of gentle distortion, it becomes less of a concern as the baby grows. However, we basically consider difficult to heal spontaneously. If you are at all concerned about distortion of your child's head, please consult a specialist as soon as possible.

    At what level of distortion should treatment be necessary?

    If you have any concerns about the distortion of your child's head, please consult a specialist. we have a consultation with a skilled specialist and examination with a 3D scanner, then we will determine the level of distortion and whether or not helmet remedy is necessary.

    Is a letter of referral necessary to receive an examination?

    You do not need a referral letter. If you have a letter of introduction, please bring it with you.

    Should we order a helmet once we receive the examination?

    You do not. We will not force you to have a helmet made, even if the doctors decides that helmet therapy is the best option for you. We respect the family's wishes first. Also, we do not recommend helmet remedy for pathological deformities (such as craniosynostosis).

    What happens if the head distortion was diagnosed as a pathological deformation?

    If the cause of the head distortion is pathological deformity (e.g., craniosynostosis) after examination and testing, we will not provide you helmet remedy. We will refer you to a university hospital and so on.

    What are the credentials of your doctors and staff?

    The Director has had a career in plastic surgery for nearly 40 years after graduating from Keio University School of Medicine. You can get tereatment from him who is an approved doctor (by the Japanese Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery) . In addition, our staff have experience to work as childcare workers and so on before. Based on our philosophy of "Mom First," we will attend to the concerns of mothers as well as head distortion.

    When should helmet treatment be started?

    Generally speaking, it is appropriate to start this treatment during 2~8 months of age after birth, but some people have started later. Since it depends on the baby's individual difference, please visit our clinic first. Our specialists will diagnose your child after confirming the degree of deformity of the head, the softness of the skull, and the degree of head growth.
